Krabi is located on the west coast of southern Thailand at the mouth of the Krabi river and 783 kms south of Bangkok. Krabi is the capital of Krabi Province and Krabi District and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Thailand. Krabi has had a long history which dates back to around 25000-35000 BC. During 1200 AD, Krabi known as Ban Thai Samo, was ruled by kingdom of Ligor and was one of the 12 cities which has monkey as their town symbol. Under the rule of king Rama V, during 19th century Krabi was known as pakasai sub country.
